I used to be a slow cooker snob and I thought that it wasn’t really cooking. Then I changed jobs where I have a 40-45 min commute each way and I am gone from my house for 10-12 hours each day. Now I use my slow cooker at least once a week! It really is a total life saver.
Today’s recipe is really a great one. I am sure that your family will be asking for more. It’s a creamy tasty and filling meal.
A touch of Italian flavors and burst of color from the herbs and sun dried tomatoes. You could always swap out the ham for Turkey Breast and use egg beaters instead of whole eggs for a healthier spin.
You will need day old Italian or Ciabatta bread. The staler the bread the better the dish will be. Fresh Bread will soak up too much of the egg and milk mixture making your meal soggy. No one wants a mushy soggy dinner!
You can leave the wax rind of the brie intact as it will melt and create a bit more body to your meal. You can choose to remove it and you will just get a creamier texture out of your cheese.
This warm hearty meal will be sure to please the whole family! Plus it is “fancy” enough to feed your company or to take to a Pot Luck.
