Hey I have a surprise for you all today!!! A post with out Pumpkin in it!!! Who would have thought with the Pumpkin Craze that I have been in lately!  So today I the most tasty treat! Salted Caramel Apple Pie Bars.

Seriously this pan of over the top Apple Yumminess was gone in less than 24 hours and I ate most of it myself!  I may or may not have a serious eating problem and sweet tooth. More on the May side of things than the May not side.

I bought this Caramel Apple Pie Cake Mix from Pillsbury with the intent of creating some new and wonderful treat.  Then all my creative juices just ran out.  Writer’s block in the kitchen.  It happens every now and then.  Luckily our good friends at Pillsbury had the solution on the back of the box!

You won’t be able to get enough of these amazing treats!  Bake them for a crowd, bake them for a small group, or just simply bake them for yourself.

Whomever you bake for, be sure to make these!

Salted Caramel Apple Pie Bars

Salted Caramel Apple Pie Bars

This recipe was from the Pillsbury Kitchens with small changes that I made

Ingredients

  • 1 box Pillsbury Moist Supreme Caramel Apple Cake Mix
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cups diced apples {I used fuji apples and left the skins on}
  • 1/4 cup sugar mixed with 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup Pillsbury Creamy Supreme Caramel Apple frosting
  • pinch of coarse salt

Instructions

  • preheat oven to 350
  • grease an 8 x 8 baking dish
  • in a mixing bowl combine oats, cake mix, butter, egg and cinnamon
  • mix till a crumbly mixture is formed
  • reserve 1 cup of the mixture
  • press the remaining into the bottom of the pan
  • bake for 15 min
  • toss the apples in the sugar cinnamon mix
  • spread apples over the crust
  • top with the reserved crumble
  • bake 20 min
  • cool completely
  • heat the frosting and drizzle over the top
  • sprinkle with the sea salt
  • cut into bars
  • Enjoy!!!
