Kick Chronic Pain to the Curb ~The Plaid & Paisley Kitchen~ Did you know that small changes can make big difference in your day to day aches and pains. Learn how I keep my chronic pain from taking over my life! You only have one trip around this rock.  There is no need for you to spend time in pain, when you can easily keep it it at bay. You can kick chronic pain to the curb! Do you feel that your joints are little more than creaky sometimes?  Have you been diagnosed with Arthritis?  Today I am sharing with you how I deal with chronic pain and arthritis.  Yes I said arthritis!  No I am not a senior citizen.  I am only 43!  Did you know, according to Arthritis Association, 2/3 of people under the age of 65 have some form of arthritis, even children.  You don’t have to be in your golden years to suffer.

We all have those mornings when you feel like every joint in  your body is stiff and crying out in protest with every step that you take.  Only a doctor can diagnose true arthritis with an X-ray.  If you are feeling the pain and ache in your joints more and more, get to your GP.  I have been living and dealing with arthritis in my spine now for years.  I have tried all sorts of prescriptions, over the counter remedies.  I have had physical therapy, nerve blocking injections, and a short desperate attempt with a chiropractor.

Chronic pain is no joke and can take over your whole life, if you let it.  When you make that decision to take control and take your life back is a great day indeed!  Let me tell how I find relief and give you hope that you can too.Kick Chronic Pain to the Curb ~The Plaid & Paisley Kitchen~ Did you know that small changes can make big difference in your day to day aches and pains. Learn how I keep my chronic pain from taking over my life!My first line of defense is Advil*.  Really.  I take Advil every day.  The anti-inflammatory, ibuprofen in Advil makes a huge difference in my ability to get around.  Some days my back is so stiff I can barely move.  Once the Advil makes its way through my system I can feel the joints and surrounding muscles relax.  Nothing’s proven stronger on Arthritis and other joint pain among over the counter pain revilers.  *Ask a doctor before use if you have a history of stomach problems, such as heartburnKick Chronic Pain to the Curb ~The Plaid & Paisley Kitchen~ Did you know that small changes can make big difference in your day to day aches and pains. Learn how I keep my chronic pain from taking over my life!My second line of defense is simple H2O.  I drink water all day long.  Water as you know is good for most whatever ails you.  I don’t really count or measure how much I drink, but you can always find me with a glass or bottle in my hand.  I also like to throw in fruit to help add a little flavor.  Strawberry and Pineapple is my favorite combination!  The water really works at keeping my joints lubricated.Kick Chronic Pain to the Curb ~The Plaid & Paisley Kitchen~ Did you know that small changes can make big difference in your day to day aches and pains. Learn how I keep my chronic pain from taking over my life!My third line of defense is stretching.  By getting the muscles around my spine loosened up I feel incredible relief.  When I was in Physical Therapy, stretching and strengthening was our main focus.  If the muscles surrounding the joints are taken care of they will support the damaged joint and alleviate pain.Kick Chronic Pain to the Curb ~The Plaid & Paisley Kitchen~ Did you know that small changes can make big difference in your day to day aches and pains. Learn how I keep my chronic pain from taking over my life!Arthritis can attack any joint.  It just so happens that I mostly have it in my spine, along with degenerative disk disease.  Many people have arthritis in their knees, hips and mostly in their hands.  Some days my pain does radiate down my arms into my hands. On those days I am very grateful that Advil makes this easy open top.  This top is designed for arthritic hands to open the bottle without any strain or pain and is perfect for people struggling with arthritis.

I also love that Advil’s Easy Open Bottle is so convenient for me to shop for.  I buy all my over the counter and vitamins at Walmart.  Convenient and really the best prices around.  You can see the marketing for Advil’s Easy Open Bottle here right on the shelves you can purchase it from.nexiumNexium also comes in an easy to open bottle for those of you who not not only suffer from arthritis but from from heartburn as well. You can also find this at Walmart.  Although you should talk to your doctor before starting any over the counter regimen.

I have 3 lovely thoughts, I would love to hear yours.

  1. Hello Chandra

When you have arthritis, the pain can get so bad at times that the temptation to not move may overwhelm you. Sitting still, keeping your activities limited to moving slowly, or only doing things that don’t bring any pain, can actually make the pain, stiffness, and swelling from arthritis worse. Those affected by arthritis pains often discover that the activities that they most enjoyed in life are the very activities that they can no longer partake in. Due to the pain experienced patients tend to restrict movement of the affected joint resulting in decreased mobility which in turn increases the incidence of obesity and conditions such as strokes and heart failure as a result of obesity. Arthritis can not really be cured but it can be controlled.

Best of luck to you and your family.
