Is everyone getting all geared up for next weekend?  If you are asking what is next weekend well then you probably need to spend more time here at The P & P Kitchen.  It’s going to be St. Patrick’s Day soon and next Saturday is Snake Saturday!!!

I am just a little crazy about this Holiday.  Nevermind that I am a horrible Catholic, I just love this feel good have a party and go a little wild Holiday.  Oh and I am part Irish to boot!!!!

I have made a fun and tasty appetizer for you.  I say appetizer, but these guys are pretty big and would be easily made into a meal.

If you like Ruben’s you will love these!! Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, Deli sliced Corned Beef, Sauerkraut, Swiss Cheese, and 1,ooo Island Dressing.   Everything you need to make this fun twist on the classic sandwich.

Ok don’t think that I haven’t realised that I am using a German inspired sandwich and using it for an Irish Holiday.  I do this as I have more German roots than Irish so it’s a blend of my heritage.  I mean come on it’s Corned Beef afterall.

I actually made these twice they were so good.  We ate them as a lunch and as snacks the next time.  I love how they look.  I almost thought that they were too pretty to eat the first time I made them.

Well I did say almost……

Although I do have to admit they are kinda pretty.  These Pinwheels will make a great presentation at any gathering you go to.   You can make all the other Leprechauns jealous with your “fancy” skills.

Really there is no skill needed.  If you can roll and cut you are good to go.  One Tip: Roll them as tightly as possible.  You may have to re-roll them after cutting.  There is a lot of yummy goodness inside that causes the spiral to slip a little.

You will love the soft buttery crust, the tang of the Sauerkraut, the bite of the Swiss Cheese, the taste of the Corned Beef, and the touch of sweet with the 1,ooo Island Dressing.

  • 1 can of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
  • 2 oz of Sliced Deli Corned Beef
  • 1/4 cup of Sauerkraut {I buy the kind in a jar not a can}
  • 1/8 cup of shredded Swiss Cheese
  • 2 Tbs 1,000 Island Dressing


  • preheat oven to 375
  • roll out the Crescent dough, keeping it in the rectangle and smooth the perforations out
  • spread the 1,000 Island Dressing on the dough
  • sprinkle the Cheese around
  • layer the Corned Beef
  • then the Sauerkraut
  • roll up very tightly
  • carefully cut into 1" pieces
  • place on a cookie sheet {you may have to re roll or arrange slightly to keep the spiral shape}
  • bake for 18 min
  • serve hot or at room temp {either way is totally delicious}
