Let’s start this summer off with something great!  Like a rich chocolatey, full of sweet cherries, amazing brownie.  Oh and let’s make it cute and fun in a little mason jar.  I bet that you are all agreeing with me right now.

I don’t know about you but I am really stoked for Summer this year.  I can’t wait for the pool to open, to get back out on my super cute bicycle, oh and the Amusement Park is open now!  I am ready for long summer days with plenty of sunshine and filled with fun.

These brownies are just the trick to fuel your families sweet tooth.  Big enough to share or just fine to save one all for yourself.  You deserve it after all….. The kids home from school for 3 months.  Yep you deserve it!

These are a snap to make and I promise you that they are the richest, most moist, chocolatey-est, {Yes that is a word I just made up} brownies you have ever had!

I used my best and most favorite brownie recipe.  Then I took it to the next level by adding some chocolate chips and maraschino cherries. Everyone loves chocolate chips and cherries!

I promise you that you will not be sorry that you made these.  You won’t even mind the calories.  Some treats are so good that they are totally worth the extra workout it takes!

Don't you just love baking in mason jars?I know that you are drooling now.  I know I am just remembering how much I loved every ooey gooey fudgy bite of them. The best part of these brownies was the sweet cherry and the fun crunch of the chocolate chips!

So head on into the kitchen and start to whip up a batch of these right now.  I used my homemade brownie recipe but if you want to make these even easier then just use a box mix brownie.  Although I highly recommend that you make them from scratch.  You will be so happy that you did!

Cherry Chocolate Chip Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/3 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 and 2/3 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tbs vanilla extract
  • 2 cups AP flour
  • 1 cup Dutch Process Cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 bag of chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup of sliced maraschino cherries

Instructions

  • pre heat oven to 350
  • in a mixer with the paddle attachment
  • cream sugar and butter till light and fluffy
  • beat in eggs and vanilla
  • add in the cocoa and the salt
  • slowly add the flour
  • fold in the chocolate chips and cherries
  • grease 6 1/2 pint mason jars
  • bake for 45-50 min
  • let cool and place one whole cherry on top of each
  • Enjoy!
