Two Barks are Better Than One {candy melt bark}

The hustle and bustle are officially here! Thanksgiving is gone and we all survived Black Friday Weekend, even if just barely! As most of you know I am a Manager at a Better Ladies Retailer and the Holiday’s are my personal favorite time of year and my professional least favorite.  On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving when we have a 1,000 things to do in the store to get ready for Friday, I broke my big toe.  Yes the one that you need to keep proper balance and the one with the largest bone in the foot (read= the most pain) is b.r.o.k.e.n. I have a picture of it, but trust me you do not want to see it.  Each day it is showing me a new color of the sickly bruise rainbow.  So when you are pulling 10-12 hour days on your feet with a broken toe and a split in the skin you need Candy to make you feel better and to soothe your grumpy mood!  Sometimes One Candy is just not enough.  Sometimes you need Two Candies! Let me tell you that these made this broken toe preppy girl feel much much better!

You may be asking yourself how did it come to be that we have two wonderful Christmas Candies here before us today.  Well remember last weeks Christmas Mint Cookies? That step about chilling and preparing your pan that is So Very Important…. well the delicious cookie morsels that you see on the Chocolate Bark is what you get if you don’t do that step. Perfect for Candy Bark, disaster for Cookies!  If you have a baking or cooking mishap (and we all do from time to time) don’t just scrap it see if it can be made into something else.  In this case the terrible crumbly fall to pieces cookies made a perfect topping on the Chocolate bark with the M&M’s and Peppermint candies.  The same flavors that are in the cookies.  The White Chocolate Bark has the ever oh so wonderful Andes’ Peppermint chips and peppermint candies on them.  A true Christmas Classic that always delivers smiles and mouth watering joy! The best part of these candy barks? From package to mouth in under 10 minutes!! Easy, Fast, Yummy.   What more can we ask of our Christmas goodies?

  1. I am SO sorry about your toe! I was the apparel and footwear manager at a large sporting goods store. I can’t even imagine trying to get ready for Black Friday with a broken toe!
    I would have pitched the ruined cookies. What a great idea to put them on the bark!

  2. the M&Ms, crumbly cookies, and peppermints are perfect little toppers for a bark! i never would have thought they would all go together but WOW you make it work!! I love bark recipes – literally, anything goes! throw whatever you want on top. :)

  3. I also work in retail and this time of year is CRAZY!! I can’t imagine having a broken toe thrown into the mix. I do think that this bark candy would be the perfect cure, YUM! :) I hope you’re feeling better soon!
