Happy Halloween all my Foodie Friends! I am so happy that this day is finally Here!! All the baking and cooking and candy making is about to have its day! All the kiddies are rushing home from school and getting their costumes on. Dad’s are checking the batteries in the flash lights and Mom’s are bringing out the candy that she had to hide from everyone. (At least that is the case in my house.) All the little witches, and ghosties, and ghoulies. Princess’ and firemen and cartoon characters running up and down the streets! This is a grand night indeed! Like I told you before Halloween is my favorite night of the year! I don’t think I will ever grow tired of the Classic Monster Movies, the Cheesy B flicks of terror, and the most cherished of all It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!!! Maybe next year Charlie…… Since 1966!! That poor kid year after year he NEVER gets to see The Great Pumpkin.
I miss the days when you would have a costume contest at school! One year I went as a gypsy! My first Halloween that I can remember my mom took the clothes off my Ragedy Ann Doll and dressed me in them and I went as her! I was like 3! Then one year she made me and my sister these very elaborate costumes. I was Kermit the frog and my little sister was Miss Piggy. It was perfect she was 3 and short and full of baby chunk and I was 10 and long and gangly! As an adult I have dressed as Aeon Flux (my personal fav costume), Anne Boleyn, and the The Corpse Bride.
These cookies are the last of my spooky treats! I am sad that October has come to an end. This is the best month of the year! The fun, the food, and the weather….. All delightful!!! Now we move into the hustle bustle of the Holidays. And if I think that September and October went fast we will barely take a breath and it will all be over and the Super Bowl will be on! Well if October has to come to an end I am glad I am doing it with these cookies! I love sugar cookies so much! I love frosting so much! These cookies have both!
